At CatholicCare, we support people of all ages who face challenges in their lives. We actively work to assist people to overcome these challenges and to live life to the full – and this is especially true in our work with children and young people.
In working with communities across Greater Melbourne, Geelong and Gippsland (and in some cases state-wide), we take pride and responsibility in ensuring everyone who accesses our services feels welcomed, respected, and safe.
Keeping kids safe
We work with children and young people throughout a range of services, supporting them both in school and in family life, and helping them to overcome the challenges and difficulties holding them back.
CatholicCare actively works to listen to, empower and protect children, and has zero tolerance for child abuse and neglect.
With this in mind, we have recently produced a new set of resources including a poster on child rights (made with children, for children) and a flyer for parents to help them introduce their children to CatholicCare’s services.
In addition to these, we have also put together a document detailing our practices for keeping children safe at CatholicCare.
“At CatholicCare, we are committed to the safety of children and young people in all that we do. We are always on the lookout for how we can do things better. So if you have any ideas, we’d love to hear them,” says Jill, CatholicCare Quality and Risk Manager.
