Friends, family, donors, staff and volunteers – over 300 supporters of CatholicCare filled the pews of St Patrick’s Cathedral yesterday at our annual Mass of Appreciation!
The celebratory Mass was graciously celebrated by Archbishop Peter A Comensoli, with St Kevin’s Cathedral Choir filling the space with music that delighted our hearts and minds.
‘Since the earliest days of supporting families crippled by high unemployment and poverty during the Great Depression, CatholicCare has not faltered in its mission to help people live “life to the full”,’ said John Sheldon, Chair of the CatholicCare Board, as he stood before the congregation.
‘Today we thank you for the valuable role you play in this mission. From the donors who contribute financial support for us to run our programs, to the volunteers who give their time and talents to help us reach more people, to our partners across the Archdiocese and to our dedicated, caring staff who journey with our clients – thank you!’
The Mass was followed by light refreshments in the Cathedral Room at the Cardinal Knox Centre, where supporters of all ages gathered around to chat and mingle.
Again we would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came along yesterday and to everyone who has supported, and continues to support, the work and mission of CatholicCare. We are truly blessed to have our supporters as part of our extended family, and we look forward to continuing our work together, with hope for a brighter future for all.
