Employment support for recently-arrived people
For recently-arrived refugees, migrants and asylum seekers, finding a job can be a barrier to healthy settlement.
The Job Readiness Program provides practical support to assist newly-arrived people to prepare for, find, and retain employment under equitable working conditions.
A key focus of the program is partnering with jobactive organisations, employment agencies, training organisations, and potential employers to source jobs and training opportunities.

Assisting newly-arrived people to join the Australian workforce
Language difficulties, lack of recognition of prior qualifications and experiences, and unfamiliarity of Australian workplace culture, can act as barriers for many who are hoping to build a new life in Australia.
We're here to help! The Job Readiness Program provides:
- access training and development opportunities
- group information sessions on Australian Workplace Culture, Workplace Safety, Behaviour at Work, and other relevant topics
- assistance with resume and cover letter preparation
- support to search for employment opportunities, prepare an application, prepare for interview processes, and complete pre-employment documentation
