We celebrate diversity

At CatholicCare Victoria we believe a diverse workforce is an inclusive workforce, an innovative workforce, and a workforce with the skill and understanding to support others in all their diversity.

We proactively seek to employ people of all genders, ages, religions and faith backgrounds, sexual orientation, [dis]abilities, and cultural backgrounds.

In addition, we have a strong commitment to increase participation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people across our workforce.

We’re here for all people

CatholicCare Victoria’s support services are available to all individuals or groups regardless of race, religious beliefs or economic status.

We provide a wide range of services to support families, individuals, couples and children in times of need.

Some of the service we provide include family and youth services, family relationship services, school counselling and pastoral care services, social housing, homelessness services (crisis, transitional and outreach), and employment and advocacy services.

We value our staff

At CatholicCare Victoria we offer employee benefits to attract and retain high calibre staff.

Our employees are key to our success – they bring new and creative responses to challenges we face in our work, and to the delivery of quality services to our local communities.

We offer a family friendly working environment, flexible working arrangements, and many other benefits including:

Salary Packaging

As a not-for-profit organisation, CatholicCare Victoria is classified by the Taxation Office as a Public Benevolent Institution. This means our employees can reduce their taxable income through salary packaging and thereby increase their take-home salary. Our salary packaging benefits for employees include:

  • Up to $15,900 for personal expenses per annum before tax.
  • Meal and entertainment expenses.

Training and Development

We value the contribution of our employees by supporting training and development. We aim to develop the knowledge, skills and experiences of our employees to better meet the needs of our clients and the strategic goals, purpose and vision of our organisation.

Flexible Employment Arrangements

We offer flexible work and leave arrangements to help employees maintain work-life balance. These arrangements can include changes to working hours, flexible start and finish times, accrued days off and purchased leave. Please note that approval of arrangements is dependent on program needs.

Purchased Leave

CatholicCare Victoria recognises the value of flexible working arrangements to enable work/life synergy for employees. Eligible employees have the option of exchanging a pro-rata reduction in their fortnightly salary for the accrual of an additional two or four weeks’ leave per annum. Consideration is given to the operational requirements of the organisation and programs when assessing applications.

Parental Leave

At CatholicCare Victoria we offer 14 weeks fully paid leave that eligible employees may take at full pay or 28 weeks at half pay. This is in addition to any government paid parental leave. Eligible spouses receive up to one week of paid leave on the birth or adoption of their child.

Employee Assistance Program

Our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a confidential counselling service for employees (and their immediate family) to access external qualified counsellors for personal, family or work-related issues that are impacting on their wellbeing. EAP is a free service.
