Everyone should have the opportunity to live life to the full.
And no one should have to face challenging times alone.
Challenges like mental health issues or family and relationship breakdown can create barriers to leading a happy and fulfilling life.
Your support will help families, individuals, young people and children to break through their barriers and live life to the full.
Your support today will help to transform lives.
Your support is needed to:
Anne* was a single mum at 17, and when her daughter recently passed away she was left to care for her seven grandchildren.
Anne has struggled with anxiety and grief, and with all the challenges life has thrown her way, she has never had the opportunity to pursue tertiary education.
"I love to learn. But I never thought that it would be something that I could do.
It was never an option for me because I was working, and since I retired I‘ve been working at home.
It was just one day after another and I was still grieving for my daughter." - Anne
Anne has since participated in CatholicCare’s Clemente Fitzroy program - a free, humanities-based higher education program providing supported study and counselling to people experiencing significant disadvantage.
And she has now completed a certificate in Liberal Arts!
“I didn't realise this is what I needed. Something to do... Something I like."
"I am a happier person and I'm in a better place" - Anne
Clemente is more than just an education program.
For people like Anne, it’s a chance at fulfilling a lifelong dream and living life to the full.
The Clemente program is just one of dozens of supports that CatholicCare offers, helping to break the barriers that prevent others from living life to the full.
Each donation has a direct impact on the lives of vulnerable families and individuals.
Because of you, families and individuals across Greater Melbourne, Geelong and Gippsland will continue to have access to mental health, wellbeing and financial support now and into the future.
