Day after day our news stations report on horrific acts of terrorism, and the impact of war and religious conflict forcing people to flee their homes - breaking families apart.
Each day across the world, tens of thousands of people make a difficult choice to leave their homes because they are persecuted for who they are and what they believe in, and their lives and safety are under threat. No longer feeling safe, they leave everything behind, and flee their homelands in hope of a brighter future…to find a new home and a safer life.
CatholicCare’s mission is to help break down the barriers to social inclusion and assist in God’s work to give a future of hope to those most in need.
With your support, CatholicCare provides support to some of the most vulnerable in our community – asylum seeker families. The Asylum Seeker Support Program team liaise with families seeking asylum and help them to navigate their transition into Australian life.
“CatholicCare is there to first find transitional housing and provide emergency relief to these families, then we are there to help provide the stepping stones to the future, working to empower the families to gain the skills they need to find employment”. Sally–Anne, Asylum Seeker Support Program Coordinator.
