CatholicCare Victoria

School and Parish Engagement

We partner with schools and parishes in the Archdiocese of Melbourne and the Diocese of Sale who help us to meet the needs of our communities.

Parishes

CatholicCare provides marriage education courses and family counselling services, but we are also here to support the most marginalised and disadvantaged people in your parish, and so it's important we work together.

Each year, parishes participate in our annual CatholicCare Sunday Appeal.

We also have partnerships with several parishes who support our Asylum Seeker Support program. Parishes also refer couples to our Pre-Marriage Education courses and purchase GodStart resources to distribute to new parents.

Schools

At CatholicCare we know that strong relationships are crucial in life - with partners, families, children, employers, institutions and society in general.

Since 1985, CatholicCare has partnered with Catholic Education Melbourne to conduct Family Week in schools throughout the Archdiocese of Melbourne.

With a focus on families and a commitment to supporting school social justice programs, Family Week is an opportunity to reflect and celebrate the role of families.

We can also work directly with you and your students through our school counselling programs, which help prepare students for work and life beyond school. We collect data across all of the schools we work with, and share our insights and analysis on the issues students are grappling with as well as how individual schools compare.

For December 2018 we have launched an activity booklet for families to use with their children throughout the summer holidays. The booklet, called Caring and Growing Together in the Summer Holidays, can be used to strengthen family relationships over the holidays and provide ideas for coming together as a family.
