Welcoming 4 new members to the CCV Board

CatholicCare Victoria Chair John Sheldon has recently announced the appointment of four new members to the CatholicCare Victoria Board.

We welcome Frank O’Connor, Kate McCormack, Sally Kirkright and Tuanh Nguyen who each bring to the organisation a vast range of talents and skills that will enhance and add to the values and mission of CatholicCare Victoria going forward.

Frank O’Connor

Frank is a highly skilled and experienced leader with specific expertise in governance coupled with an extensive executive management background in information technology and corporate services. Frank has committed himself over the past four decades to a range of NFP organisations in conjunction with a long corporate career at Senior Executive level. Social Housing is also an area where Frank has a strong background, having Chaired HousingFirst from 2013 to 2020. 

From a personal perspective, Frank and his wife also ran Family Group Homes over a number of years in the 1970’s and 1980’s giving him direct insight and experience of the issues facing young people in Out of Home Care. Frank also brings an absolute level of commitment to community as demonstrated by the range and longevity of his association with a diverse range of community organisations.


Kate McCormack

Kate is recognised as an industry expert and sought-after presenter at both local and international conferences across workforce, flexibility, attraction and retention as well as culture. For the last 18 years Kate has worked as the Human Resources Director for Mercy Health, and has over 25 years of experience across retail, logistics and healthcare. A demonstrated and proven strategic leader, she is highly passionate and proven at leading, driving, developing and engaging teams of professionals to deliver the strategic goals of an organisation.

With people being a significant component of CatholicCare Victoria, Kate will provide strong support in Industrial Relations, Transformation / Change Management, Performance Management Systems as well as Industrial Relations.


Sally Kirkright

Sally is a purpose driven, curious and strategic leader, highly committed and passionate, with outstanding executive experience in the financial services and health sectors. Her board experience spans the sports and not-for-profit sectors where her contribution has focused on achieving member and philanthropic outcomes through robust governance, managing risk and compliance, strategic development, and creating inclusive and thriving cultures.

Sally believes her value at a board level is through leveraging strong people and human capital experience, exceptional financial management experience and an agile approach to seeking technological and innovation solutions. Sally will make significant contributions to the organisation in the areas of Strategy, Finance Risk and Compliance, Stakeholder Management and Philanthropy, and Technology and Innovation.


Tuanh Nguyen

Tuanh is a Director in the corporate law practice at PwC Legal, specialising in providing legal advice to Australian and international clients on corporate transactions. She has 15 years’ experience assisting clients with their fundraising transactions and private and public M&A. Tuanh also has extensive experience advising Australian companies and not-for-profit organisations, and their boards on corporate governance and risk management issues. She also provides advisory services on a broad range of general commercial and corporate law matters, and she has previously worked as an in-house lawyer at General Motors.

Tuanh is a passionate advocate for cultural diversity with a particular interest in advocating for greater representation of culturally diverse women amongst the leadership ranks of Australia's corporate and not-for-profit sectors.
