If you generously choose to make a bequest to CatholicCare, the main types of gift are:
- A residuary gift
A percentage of or all the remainder of your estate after expenses and specific legacies have been paid. - A specific gift
This could be a specific amount of money or item such as artwork, jewellery, shares, property or other forms of investments.
The following wording is provided as a guide for your legal adviser to use if you intend making a bequest to CatholicCare:
"I give ............ share/residue of my estate or the sum of $............... (or named item) to CatholicCare Archdiocese of Melbourne, 383 Albert Street, East Melbourne, Victoria and I direct that the receipt of the Company Secretary or other proper officer for the time being of CatholicCare shall be a good and sufficient discharge to my trustee/s."
If you have already included CatholicCare in your Will under the name of Centacare Catholic Family Services, this will be sufficient and we are very grateful. You do not need to rewrite your Will.
Your bequest or other major gift can become a living memorial to your generosity. It could also act as an inspiration to others to consider their own part in ensuring the future wellbeing of so many.
