Many Vietnamese community groups were consulted in the development of CatholicCare’s Vietnamese Couples Program. The feedback from the Vietnamese community to the Vietnamese workers was used to design and resource a program that would be most relevant to Vietnamese couples in Australia.

Bringing Your Baby Home

Marriage and Relationship Education

Bringing Your Baby Home is a program for couples expecting their first baby or who have a baby under 12 months of age. The program assists couples to build knowledge and  skills to constructively manage the many changes that occur with the birth of a child. The program was developed by Drs John and Julie Gottman and has a very strong research base. Their research found that healthy infant development, good parenting and raising children who are emotionally connected go hand in hand with parents who have a good, satisfied relationship.

Partnerships (Group Program)

Group sessions are designed for couples to explore their relationship strengths and differences. While most of the work is done as individual couples, participation in the group provides an enjoyable opportunity to meet and learn from other couples. More information on Partnerships Programs.

One employed, one unemployed or student: $235

All weekend programs run from 10am to 5pm

Program Dates 2012 - Weeknights

All weeknight programs run from 7.15pm to 10pm

Partnerships Cancellation Policy

In the event of cancellation, a refund will be paid less $60 per couple administration fee. We regret that refunds cannot be given for cancellations notified within 10 days of the course or for days booked but not attended.

A $40 administration fee will be charged to couples who wish to transfer to another program or to an alternative course for the second day. Notification must be given at least 10 days prior to the commencement of the program.

FOCCUS (Individual Couple Program)

FOCCUS helps couples identify their strengths and some of the challenges in their couple relationship. The individual couple completes an inventory and meets with a facilitator to explore their relationship in preparation for marriage. More information on FOCCUS programs.

FOCCUS is conducted over four one-hour weekly sessions with the couple and one facilitator.

FOCCUS Cancellation Policy

Developing Healthy Relationships…that’s what we do; but we are so much more than that! The CatholicCare Developing Healthy Relationships Team can present a range of sessions to students to assist in building healthy relationships with self, family, others and community. This is done in a dynamic, relevant, interactive and fun way. We pride ourselves on making a connection with the students that is both encouraging and personal.
